Genesis
The roots of the innovative Molecular Probes VNIR offers goes back to 2009. At the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, the research activities on Molecular Probes for various applications started, which in the course of a decade, led to many inventions.
VNIR
To translate the innovations of Molecular Probes into products, and to make these probes with several technical advantages into the market, VNIR Biotechnologies was incorporated in 2017 with the I.P. transfer from the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research.
Product development
From the technology that was licensed to VNIR and the new research at VNIR, various products were developed. These products are meant to be safe to cells and humans, thermostable, and offer a wide range of technical advantages. Global quality products made from India.
Patents
The innovative Molecular Probes are protected through various international patents for the novelty of the molecules, their synthesis as well as for their unique applications. Some of these patents are granted, and others pending.
PET compatible probe
Thinking beyond the in-vitro diagnostics, VNIR has recently developed a molecular solution aimed at performing Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scan of Alzheimer’s. The molecule preserves the core chemistry of our patented molecules for specific Alzheimer’s detection. The clinical validations are pending.
Our Story
VNIR Biotechnologies PVT Ltd is a startup from the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore (JNCASR, autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India).
VNIR draws its domain expertise in novel Molecular probes, from dedicated academic research, of over a decade, which has led to multiple international patents. The result is a wide range of innovative solutions for life science applications, live-cell using visible to near-infrared fluorescence and early-stage disease diagnostics. We have utilized the past year to enhance competitive capabilities in molecular probes for a wide range of core life science applications.
COVID-19 continues to challenge the status quo. Many molecular probes used in imaging diagnostics are currently imported, with the attendant lead-times, costs and other implications. The strategies to deal with the pandemic and its consequences are definitely accelerating the adoption of new local ways of sourcing products, without compromising on the global standards.
We are privileged to contribute our part to the self-reliance in molecular imaging and diagnostics solutions by making global quality products, in India, for the world. We are happy to share with you the range of products that we make.
